Abstract: We all know that neglecting our car's maintenance requirements is a recipe for automotive disaster. Small things, such as a slow oil leak or a worn brake pad, can make the car dangerous, or even inoperable. But did you know that you should have exactly the same concerns when it comes to marriage? As time goes by, relationships, just like cars, experience wear and tear. If you ignore the little things that go wrong, you may find yourself dealing with a major breakdown. Since there are no flashing red warning lights to tell us when something needs attention, we have created a Marriage Diagnostic below to help couples to properly maintain their marriages. Your marriage will benefit from preventive maintenance. We need to discuss stressful issues in our homes before they erupt. Maybe this activity will help you to rejuvenate your marriage! The end of summer is a good time to plan for marriage maintenance, before the busyness of Fall kicks in. So here it is for you to get started:

Directions: Please circle (+) if you and your spouse do these activities together or (-) if you and your wife do not do these activities together. Please be sure to define the words "marriage" and "diagnostic" as well as any other words whose meaning you do not know.
Spiritual Check (The Spiritual Activities that you and your spouse do together)

Directions - Once you have completed the Spiritual Diagnostic please:
1. Exchange lists with each other.
2. Be honest and indicate areas that you feel would be difficult.
3. Allow each other 21-30 days to make adjustments.
4. Give each other report cards at the end of this time.
Be honest, but not harsh. You will be surprised that when one really attempts to make changes, the outcome is positive. This drill will make you better friends to each other. Take the negative findings from this Marriage Diagnostic and make it a goal to continue to improve in these areas. Your love and respect for each other will grow immensely!
